Counterparty origination
We take each requirement to exporters, millers, processors and importers within our network and shortlist those able to perform.
Price discovery
We report prevailing levels, recent business and terms, so that bids and offers are placed in line with the market.
Negotiation
We conduct the negotiation on price, quantity, quality, shipment period and payment until both parties are agreed.
Contract confirmation
A business confirmation is issued on the day of agreement, followed by the contract on the applicable trade association terms.
Execution monitoring
We follow L/C establishment, vessel nomination or container booking, loading, inspection and sailing, and escalate deviations promptly.
Claims assistance
Where quality or weight is contested, we assist the parties towards an amicable settlement and advise on the arbitration procedure provided in the contract.

Enquiry
We take your requirement in full: commodity, specification, quantity, port, shipment period and payment terms, on the buy side or the sell side.

Market sounding
We approach vetted counterparties on a no-name basis. Your identity is disclosed only once there is firm interest on both sides.

Firm offer
We present firm bids and offers with a stated validity and conduct the negotiation on price, quality, shipment and payment.

Contract
On agreement we issue a business confirmation the same day. The contract follows on the applicable trade association terms.

Shipment
We monitor L/C establishment, vessel nomination or container booking, loading and pre-shipment inspection, and escalate any deviation from contract.

Documents and payment
We track document presentation through the banks and remain engaged until payment is effected and any claim is closed.

Working with a broker
Who are the contracting parties?
The buyer and the seller. TigerLinks introduces the parties and confirms the business as broker, and is not a party to the contract.
How is brokerage charged?
Brokerage is agreed for each transaction and stated in the business confirmation before either party commits. It is not included in the contract price.
Which payment terms are supported?
Payment terms are agreed between buyer and seller. Irrevocable letters of credit at sight and cash against documents are the most common in international business, and we advise on what each side is likely to accept.
How is quality verified?
By an independent inspection company nominated in the contract, at load port or discharge port as agreed. The inspection certificate forms part of the shipping documents.
How are disputes resolved?
Most are settled amicably between the parties with our assistance. Otherwise the contract specifies the governing trade rules and arbitration, typically GAFTA or FOSFA.
Is there a minimum quantity?
It depends on the commodity. Some trade in container lots and others only in vessel parcels. We will advise on enquiry whether a requirement is workable.
